New York-New York Las Vegas Hotel and Casino
At the New York-New York Las Vegas Hotel and Casino, the architecture directly evokes the New York City skyline with several towers configured to resemble famed New York City towers like the Empire State Building and Chrysler Building. The front of the property features a lake representing New York Harbor within which stands a 150-foot-tall replica of the Statue of Liberty as well as replicas of the Soldiers and Sailors Monument, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Main Immigration Building on Ellis Island and Grand Central Terminal. Within the resort gambling areas, lounges, restaurants and meeting rooms are named after New York City neighborhoods or landmarks; for example, the main casino area is called Central Park while the shops are modeled after Greenwich Village. Pedestrians are blocked from crossing at street level by concrete barriers and instead can cross overhead pedestrian bridges to the neighboring Excalibur to the south and the MGM Grand to the east.
