UNLV Runnin' Rebels

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) Runnin’ Rebels are a NCAA Division I men’s basketball team that plays at the Thomas & Mack Center on the UNLV campus. The mascot, an anthropomorphic mountain man named Hey Reb! who wears a gray hat with a scarlet band, performs live at all UNLV athletic events. First created in 1983, the mascot was intended to depict the embodiment of the independent rebel spirit at UNLV. Hey Reb! always is seen wearing a UNLV jersey with the number 57, which commemorates the UNLV’s founding in 1957.
