Downtown Container Park

An exciting sustainable shopping attraction in Downtown Las Vegas, Downtown Container Park features a mix of 30 shipping containers and 41 multifunctional modular cubes along its perimeter and has become the hub for an assortment of small boutiques, galleries, bars, eateries and outdoor spaces. A playground and interactive zone for children sits at the center of the development and features a shipping container converted into a 30-foot-tall treehouse with three different slides. Above the front entrance of the complex is a hard-to-miss sign made out of a gray and orange shipping container that boldly reads “C-O-N-T-A-I-N-E-R P-A-R-K” and functions as a bridge. Also at the entrance is a 55-foot-tall steel praying mantis sculpture atop a dump truck; the mobile art piece was made by Kirk Jellum and Kristen Ulmer for the Burning Man festival and is capable of shooting flames from its antennae on special occasions. Next to the sculpture is the more mysterious Catalyst Dome, an inwardly lit igloo-like structure that changes colors at night.
