Thomas & Mack Center
A state-of-the-art sports and entertainment facility and one of the West’s premier facilities, the Thomas & Mack Center was completed in 1983 for nearly $30 million on the campus of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). The center is named for two prominent Las Vegas bankers, E. Parry Thomas and Jerome Mack, who established the original land foundation and donated $500,000 for feasibility studies and initial architectural renderings. Originally designed as only a sports venue for the UNLV Runnin’ Rebels, the facility’s focus and direction changed during preconstruction to allow it to become a multipurpose venue.
