The Gilcrease Orchard

Established in 1977 by Ted and Bill Gilcrease and made into a nonprofit foundation by Ted Gilcrease before his death in 2003, the Gilcrease Orchard the only remaining large farm in the Las Vegas Valley. Today, the Gilcrease Orchard Foundation preserves the orchard and provides the community with opportunities to learn about agriculture. Gilcrease Orchard is a place where families can bring their children and enjoy a sampling of farm life. The orchard preserves a unique environment where community can pick food fresh off the tree or vine and see, feel and taste the difference from produce bought at the store. Through the nonprofit foundation, Gilcrease Orchard provides recreational and educational experiences to show children where their food comes from and how it is grown to foster an appreciation for the earth’s bounty and a healthy lifestyle.
