Student Union

Since holding its first on-campus classes in 1957, University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) has developed from a small branch college of the University of Nevada into a thriving urban research institution of higher learning. Noted for its strong emphasis on science and technology, business management and its law program, UNLV has been deemed a “research-intensive university” by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. Along with the main campus, located about 1.6 miles east of the Las Vegas Strip, the university offers the Shadow Lane Campus just east of the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada, which houses the School of Dental Medicine (the only dental school in Nevada); the Paradise Campus just east of the McCarran International Airport; and a satellite campus in Singapore. UNLV’s law school, the William Boyd School of Law, is the only law school in Nevada. STUDENT UNION The Student Union at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) opened in 2007 as a place to hold a meeting, meet a friend for coffee, grab a quick bite to eat or mingle with other campus community members. With a food court, game room and social lounges, the Student Union has something for everyone to enjoy each day.
